The Adopt-A-Book Program Provides:

  • An opportunity for children to overcome reading and literacy deficiencies.

  • Access to age appropriate “Fun-to-Read” books that are pre-screened for quality of content.

  • A steady flow of new, current books that children love to read in every participating Boys & Girls Club.

  • A blend of books that includes books listed on national reading initiatives such as “Accelerated Reader.”

  • Books for children to take home to encourage at- home reading and parental involvement.

  • Dedicated reading time enhanced by authors, college students, local and national dignitaries, and volunteers reading to and with children participating in Boys & Girls Clubs.

  • Tutoring for children not reading at or above their grade level.
To Enable a Child, Please Donate!

Your gift will give reading & literacy skills to those in greatest need:
poor & disadvantaged children who fail to read at the minimum standards!

All donations are tax deductable.

$1,000    Sponsors a reading program for 150 children in a Boys & Girls Club or after-school youth program for one year.
$750    Adds 250 new books in K-6 grade level reading titles to a Boys & Girls Club library or after school youth program.
$500    Provides one book per month to 12 low-income families with elementary grade level children.
$250    Adds 40 new books that are on national reading lists to inner-city or rural school media center.
